In Cluny, in the heart of Burgundy, a region I particularly love, the Municipality asked me to beautify a gently inclined triangular lawn enshrined by old houses.

Visiting the city warehouse, I decided to recycle weather-beaten discarded metal curb posts and fences in order to create a set of parallel curving lines to follow the ground contours.

These orderly rows create a distinctive rhythm that is site specific and, by changing the perception of the once open-space, stimulates new ways to use it, from children’s playground to livestock fair.
