2005 The Taped Building (Stockholm)
A local contractor was walking me around, when he showed me a small building we was renovating in Stockholm old town.
At the street level he had used a yellow & black tape to warn pedestrians to stay clear of the scaffoldings. I’ve always been fascinated by that sort of tape (fairly similar the one used for police lines).
I almost begged the contractor to let me instruct the workers where to use it, supposedly to protect some features of the building while it was being repainted.
This is jhow brash Pop-art colors were temporarily added to a non-descript facade. Rather than being irreverent, the new cheerful make-up gave the facade a quite unusual character.
