Pictures (?) at an Exhibition

Somehow I had been invited to a collective exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in Baku, something about New European Trends or the like.

I admit I was at loss, but didn’t question their choice, not wishing to loose the opportunity to visit a city that had always intrigued me.

I opted for a three minimalist installations.

The first two are gypsum lumps pasted on the corner of the walls, duly numbered  and antedated as if they were  a suite conceived years earlier.

The third is a disappearing act: the displayed artwork has unaccountably vanished from sight.

Only a number and the hanging string remain.
