Even an empty parking lot can be a great canvas.
As for any traditional painting, you “only” need to carefully select the right surface, pigments, applying method (“brushes”) etc. It then becomes far more tricky.

Of course there is the confounding scale you must come to terms with. First you need a vantage point to observe how your painting is progressing and then there is difficulty of conveying the right instructions to the lorry drivers (who, by the way, are laughing at you).

More than anything else, time is a stringent factor, as you don’t get a second chance. The right weather conditions are just as important as the right surface, not just to fabricate the perfect mud (a dry climate obviously won’t do), but also because your work might be washed out by unexpected downpour, even before it is completed.

Anche un parcheggio vuoto può dimostrarsi un’ottima tela.
Come con un dipinto tradizionale, devi “solo” selezionare con cura la superficie giusta, i pigmenti, il metodo di applicazione (“pennelli”) ecc.,
E’ dopo che le cose si complicano e parecchio.

Naturalmente c’è la scala assai fuorviante, con cui si devono fare i conti. Per prima cosa serve una posizione privilegiata, da cui sorvegliare come si sviluppa l’opera, e poi c’è la difficoltà di trasmettere le giuste istruzioni agli autisti dei camion (che, peraltro, si fanno beffe di te).

Più di ogni altra cosa, il tempo è un fattore stringente, poiché non si dispone di una seconda possibilità. Le giuste condizioni meteorologiche sono importanti quanto la giusta superficie, non solo per ottenere la fanghiglia perfetta (un clima secco ovviamente non funziona), ma anche perché il tuo lavoro potrebbe essere letteralmente spazzato via da un acquazzone, ancor prima di essere completato.
